Steve M. Neil Snacks Manufacturing Advantages

By Laurinda Spoon

Snack foods are everywhere these days. But it wasn't that long ago that they weren't as prominent. Companies like Diamond Foods have done a lot to ensure you have the convenience you're looking for in your snacking. Through innovations from CEOs like Computing with Steven Neil, they've come a long way.

From rather humble beginnings as back as far as 1912, originally this was just a ploy to sell walnuts. A few walnut farmers had gotten together, to form a bigger conglomerate, that would make distributing the nuts easier, and more cost effective.

Of course, just getting together with other farmers wasn't enough to make a successful company. No they needed to try new things, and they needed some new ideas. That's why they tried new forms of advertising. They become the first nut company to advertise on television in 1950.

You've got to find as many buyers as possible if you really want to be successful in the food industry. Opening themselves up to other countries, turned out to be one of Diamond's best decisions. That's when they really started to succeed.

At this point, the company had hit a plateau of sorts. When that happens, you've got to find a new way to sell your snacks. That's why they formed the new Emerald Nuts brand, to provide more variety to consumers.

Because other companies had become more well known in the nut department, it was necessary for Diamond to branch out. Through Emerald Nuts they were able to tap into the market Fisher and Planters had found.

Because of the newfound success in the snack market, the next logical move was of course to buy up other properties. That's the plan that Steven Neil carried out when they acquired the Pop Secret popcorn company.

These days, you've definitely heard of what this company has to offer. You've definitely heard about their snacks, and more than likely indulged yourself once or twice. They are ever growing as well, even trying to acquire other companies such as Pringles.
